A temporary or permanent loss of voluntary muscular action in a section of the body is referred to as paralysis. Individuals may become partially, completely, locally or generally paralyzed. The lack of voluntary muscle function in one or more bodily parts due to nervous system impairment is known as paralysis. For example, motor neurons control how muscles move. Sensory neurons communicate information to the central nervous system (CNS), such as pressure, pain, and temperature. The severity of paralysis is based on the degree of loss of muscle function. Paresis, often known as partial paralysis, results in severe muscle weakness and limited mobility. Paresis sufferers do, however, still have some degree of control over the afflicted muscles. A person who has complete paralysis is unable to move the afflicted bodily part.
